The Main Street Inn B&B stands three stories tall and overlooks the lamplit street in the Historic District of Ste. Genevieve Missouri. This magnificent brick building was built nearly 140 years ago as a hotel to accommodate the growingly popular area's visitors. Today, ten unique guest rooms invite you to select your personalized retreat, and a balance of renovation and preservation makes this historic inn the best of both worlds.
Inn Amenities
Main Street Inn was first known as the Meyer Hotel; initially built in 1882, this grand building features many areas for relaxing, gathering, and spending time together. You'll have your choice of sitting areas that welcome you with comfortable chairs and sofas, original fireplaces, and a curated art selection that is both contemporary and timeless. Make yourself at home in one of the living areas; bring your current read or select a book from the shelf and settle into a vintage velvet chair. High ceilings, chandeliers, and natural light make these rooms feel even more spacious and bright. Discover historic touches, distinctive furnishings, and antiques throughout the house in this marvelously preserved inn.
Gardens and Porches
The outdoor areas of the inn offer guests space to enjoy fresh air in a beautiful garden setting. The backyard is the perfect place for an afternoon lounge; kick back on one of the chaise chairs and say cheers to a great day in Ste. Genevieve. Meander the grounds where you'll come across various flowers, including lilac, iris, and daffodil; evergreen trees and shrubs provide a festive backdrop in the wintertime. One of the best spots for morning coffee is the second-floor porches. Watch over Main Street from the large front porch, outfitted with abundant wicker seating. The ground floor front porch and garden view side porch is also available, giving you the option to experience different perspectives during your stay. Main Street Inn is surrounded by many trees and green spaces, welcoming nature to flourish with frequent visitors, including squirrels, birds, and other small creatures.

Main Street Inn offers ten unique guest rooms across three floors. Each room possesses unique attributes for a highly personalized experience and all feature amenities that make your stay exceptionally comfortable. You can expect a great night's sleep on fine linens, private baths with eco-friendly toiletries, in-room seating areas, and conveniences like high-speed internet and irons. Each floor has a coffee maker for 24-hour access. Your room is a private escape where relaxing is easy; modern comfort and historical touches weave seamlessly to create a one-of-a-kind retreat.
First Floor
There are two rooms on the first floor, both with a unique capacity. The Rendezvous Room is the inn's pet-friendly room. This well-appointed room welcomes you and your furry friend to enjoy an evening by the fireplace, a soak in the whirlpool tub, and easy access to the outside via a private entrance. The Studio Room is handicapped and wheelchair accessible, with a street-level entrance. This artist's loft-style room features exposed brick, a large jacuzzi tub, and an additional twin bed to accommodate a third guest.
Second Floor
The second floor boasts five spacious rooms, each with a charming view of either Main Street or the garden. The Trope Ricard Suite features access to the side porch, with exclusive use after 9 pm. The spacious Suite Ste. Genevieve is an excellent choice for groups, with accommodations for up to four guests available.
Third Floor
The third floor offers a bit of added privacy on the inn's top level. Each room features deep window seats that provide the perfect spot to perch for a bird's eye view of your surroundings. The Meyer Retreat is sure to wow with a king-size four-poster bed and matching furniture set, including a writing desk. Regine's Room is cheerful and bright; the smallest room in the inn charms with a classic blue motif found in the bedding, area rug, and ceramic decor throughout the suite.
Breakfast
After a great night's rest, head to the dining room on the main floor for a full breakfast served each day. Delight in dishes crafted from local ingredients for a fresh flavored treat; a breakfast will include savory favorites like frittata, avocado toast with tomato and feta cheese, and ham. A touch of sweetness is offered as well, with yogurt, granola, and baked bread or pastry to pair with your cup of coffee.
Wine Reception
Guests are welcome to a relaxed wine reception held in the inn's North Parlor every evening of your stay. Drop-in at 5:00 for a complimentary glass of wine and a selection of cheeses. This casual occasion is a great time to meet your innkeeper and fellow guests. Cheers.
Ste. Genevieve History
Ste. Genevieve has a rich history and is the site of a significant French settler community dating back to the mid-1700s. Known as Missouri's oldest town, you can still get a glimpse into the past with French colonial buildings that still stand to this day. Stop by the Welcome Center, where you can find out details about the town's remarkable history. Take a walking tour where you'll see a varied mix of architecture emblematic of the newcomers who arrived in different periods of this area's storied past.
Things to do in Ste. Genevieve
Main Street Inn is in the heart of the charming and walkable historic district, where you'll find cafes, restaurants, and an exciting mix of boutiques and specialty shops. Ste. Genevieve is home to a thriving winery and brewery scene, with many tasting rooms in town and vineyards just a short drive or trolley ride away. If you want to explore the great outdoors, head to Pickle Springs Natural Area, whose 2-mile trail takes you through some of the most varied terrains in all of Missouri, all leading to an incredible vista.
