House Amenities and Outdoor Space

When you enter the Gillen House, your first stop is the entry which is a light and airy space. To your left and right through French doors are two sitting areas in the front of the house, perfect for an afternoon chat. Head up the staircase to the upstairs landing, where you'll find more seating, a coffee maker, and entry to your guest room. The upstairs screened-in porch is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee and listen to the sounds of the morning. You can find many different styles of art throughout the Gillen House, including paintings by your innkeeper.

Get some fresh air outside amongst a flourishing natural landscape that invites you to unwind. Spend some time at the bench by the relaxing pond, where you'll discover a charming turtle, aquatic plants, and the gentle sound of flowing water. You're welcome to stretch your legs and stroll the grounds by the vegetable garden, pecan orchard, and front flower garden. Golfers will love the on-site putting green in the backyard. Many gathering spots include a front porch, a back deck, a tree-shaded sitting area, and a fire pit patio ideal for late-night hangouts.

Guest Rooms and Amenities

There are four guest rooms, each named for the color subtly woven into the space. Each room comes with everything you need for a relaxing night's rest, like bathrobes, silky sheets, and a sound machine for more restful slumber. Fresh flowers welcome you to your room, where you'll find comfort and convenience in amenities like the water filter pitcher, cell phone charger, and bath necessities. Rooms feature en suite baths, vanity desks, and sitting areas so you can enjoy a private and spacious retreat.

Verde is the largest room and has a king-size bed and an additional pull-out full-sized sofa bed. There is a vanity desk nook, a comfy armchair perfect for reading, and a generously sized shower. The Verde is the only room that can accommodate up to four guests.

Rojo has a queen-sized bed, large windows with a view of pecan trees, and a sitting area with a coffee table. The spacious bath has a large shower, separate toilet, and vanity.

Amarillo has a king-size bed and is a sunny space with four windows allowing light to flow into the room. There is a comfy chair, a large ottoman, and a headboard repurposed from an old door.

Azul has a king-size bed and features wooden furniture throughout the room in the desk, bed chest, mirror, door, and even the reclaimed bathroom vanity—made from an old door in the attic. For lovers of all things blue, you'll find navy, light blue, and cornflower in the linens and paintings.

Breakfast

Each day will bring a new breakfast during your stay. Start your morning with classics like bacon and eggs with a side of fruit and fresh juice, and coffee. You'll often receive something from the veggie garden, like homemade zucchini bread or chocolate figs. Breakfast is served in the spacious dining room but can also be taken outside to one of the patio areas. Guests can make dinner arrangements upon request.
