Many have heard the term bed and breakfast but do not understand the difference between a B&B and Hotel. This distinction may not be a big deal for some, as they are simply looking for a place to sleep for the night before returning home or hitting the road for their next destination. However, some are looking for a spectacular vacation that will give them a lifetime of memories, and a bed and breakfast can be the ideal choice for where to stay.

By understanding how a B&B differs from a hotel, you can turn that next getaway into the vacation of a lifetime, even if it is just for a weekend. Here are things that separate a bed and breakfast from a hotel.

A Limited Number of Guests

The average bed and breakfast usually takes no more than 4 to 10 guests at any one time. There are some serious advantages to this. The most important of these is peace and quiet. The average hotel has somewhere between 50 to 100 guests on any given night, and it can get incredibly noisy, especially on the weekends. Let four or five families come with a group of kids, and you will find yourself getting very little sleep that night.

You won't find this kind of chaos at a bed and breakfast. Because there are a limited number of guests, there is also a limited amount of noise made, barely any, to be honest with you. Plus, you rarely find that the group of guests are families. They are usually people like yourselves, someone who is looking to get away and have a lovely weekend or week where they can have some peace and quiet. This type of environment will make your stay a whole lot more enjoyable.

The Rooms Are Sensational

The average hotel room has very similar amenities. You will likely find a coffee machine, refrigerator, microwave, desk, and television. The bed is a queen- or king-sized bed, and this is about all of the amenities you will receive.

Bed and breakfast room amenities are not as limited. You get many homey touches that make staying in one of these rooms a truly spectacular one. Not only are you going to be sleeping in a luxurious bed with a premium comforter, soft, fluffy pillows, and warm blankets, but the room will likely knock your socks off. Many B&Bs have Jacuzzi tubs, bath baskets, premium coffees, and herbal teas, and comfortable couches and chairs included in the room.

You will find that the room furnishings are much as you might have your bedroom at home. It provides a terrific luxurious place to stay that is full of comfort and enjoyment.

The Locations Are Great

Think about locations where you would find the average hotel. It is likely located along a major highway or in the center of a major city. The reason behind this is simple. The hotel is trying to appeal to the most significant number of people possible. The location demands that they will get hundreds of customers a week if they are situated close to the airport, along a substantial strip of highway, or near a great downtown location.

That is fantastic if you plan to have a busy, bustling time while you are staying at the hotel. However, if you want some peace and quiet and to have an enjoyable stay like none other, then the bed and breakfast is the place for you.

These B&Bs are usually located in rural or suburban locations, where the amenities around the location are spectacular. It may be near a vineyard, a great outdoor excursion area, or some other spot that allows you to get back to nature in a way that you will genuinely enjoy.

The Food Is Amazing

Many hotels offer a continental breakfast. This is usually waffles, bagels, yogurt, fruit, cereal, milk, and juice. The waffles are generally made by you, as they leave a waffle maker out for guests. They provide a breakfast that is quick and relatively inexpensive for them.

This is not the case at a bed and breakfast. They provide spectacular meals meant to give guests a great boost to start their day. Some may offer a continental buffet breakfast, but it will be with freshly made sausage or bacon, maybe even both, eggs (not powdered), freshly made toast and jams, premium made coffees and teas, and much more. They provide the ultimate experience for breakfast, getting you off on the right foot.

Choose a Bed and Breakfast Next Time You Travel

This is an experience that is meant to make the stay one you will genuinely enjoy. It will be very much like staying at home, but with somebody else serving you and taking care of all your needs. No fuss, no noise, and no congestion. Just a great stay that will make your vacation getaway one that will be truly memorable.
